Data cables as long as a marathon: New construction in Frankfurt/Main for the Germany automobile club
Elomech Elektroanlagen GmbH and Teloplan Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH set up the complete electrotechnical systems for the eight-storey, newly erected headquarters of AvD in Frankfurt am Main (Hesse). The client is one of the largest and oldest automobile clubs in Germany. In addition to the usual services such as a 24-hour hotline, breakdown service, and insurance, it is mainly known for being the organiser of the Grand Prix of Germany and for classic car races.
The new building has eight floors plus a basement; the gross floor area is 6,400 m². It is mainly used as an office building for around 200 employees. In the basement and on the 7th floor there are large storage and technology areas and on the ground floor there is a conference area for up to 160 participants.
The contract value including amendments amounted to € 1.15 million. From February 2016 to February 2017, we ensured that all electrotechnical systems were installed - and "all" included a broad spectrum:
- Authority radio equipment, BOS
- Fire alarm system (NSC)
- Data technology
- IT connections (1,824 units RJ45)
- Lights (700 lights, mostly Trilux and Philips)
- Emergency power system
- NYM lines (29 km of different sizes from 1.5 to 10 mm²)
- Barrier system
- Search and signalling systems
The installed data cables run the length of a real marathon: 42 km of type Leoni Pro 1300 were installed, which almost corresponds to the usual marathon distance of 42.195 km. Since this was a new building, the line for the building from the public communication network (LWL) as well as the low-voltage cables from the transformer-low-voltage framework were included in the scope of services.
